Course Description
This course consists of current concepts, principles, and theories that are related to nursing. It helps students to focus on the nursing process while providing care to a healthy as well as an ill client, by using the principle of a holistic approach.
Course Objectives
At the end of this course, the students will be able to:
- Define health and illness.
- Describe the physiological and emotional responses of the body to stress and crisis and their management.
- Describe the factors affecting pain perception and the role of the nurse in pain management.
- Describe the different channels of communication including principles of effective communication.
- Describe the procedure of physical examination of a client in detail.
- Discuss the scope and application of nursing theories in nursing practice.
- Explain the holistic approaches applicable to nursing practice.
- Describe the factors affecting changes in nursing practice.
- Discuss the care of the disabled client.
- Discuss the ways of being creative in nursing.
